Prep Work to Do Before Getting Your New Hot Tub Installed

installation wind river hot tub
Hot Tubs are complex appliances that use filters, pumps and other equipment to circulate, to heat and to clean the water in the hot tub, all of which need to be properly installed and the hot tub itself is a large and heavy equipment that needs to be properly placed, too. Preparing the terrain for accommodating your hot tub, placing and installing the unit correctly is therefore a complex task – here are some of the most important steps involved:
  • Selecting the right spot – the best place for your new tub is a spot that is level and gets proper drainage to direct the water spilled from the tub away from the surrounding area and to prevent water ponding. The spot should not be close to power lines (make sure the hot tub is at least five feet away from any electrical outlet or panel, too) and not under large trees either;
  • Prepare the ground – make sure that the soil is perfectly level in the spot where you want to place your hot tub. You can use a tractor for the purpose, but you can also clean and level the soil manually, with a shovel;
  • Spread some gravel – gravel will make it easier for the soil to bear the weight of the hot tub and your tub will sit more safely in its place.
